FR-7's were converted from existing Model 1916 and possibly Model 1893 rifles during the 1950's. These were supposed to be training rifles for the
CETME. Caliber is 7.62 CETME or NATO. The tube under the barrel looks like it would be a gas tube of some sort, but it is actually used only to store a
bayonet adapter and cleaning tools. Barrel length is 18.5 inches, and is fitted with a flash supressor. Thanks much to all who have contributed pictures; I
