In the above graph, there appear to be two different production periods. Apparently there was a haitus in production starting in about 1917 when production of the Model 1916 started. Production of the Model 1893 resumed in about 1921. Production rate improved considerably after production was resumed - the average production in the early period was about 13,500 rfiles per year, while average annual production in the later period was about 24,000 rifles. The second production period is also where the gas escape hole appears. Note that there are several "flyers" that don't fit the pattern, but I have presented the data "warts and all".

Carbine data is a lot more scattered than the rifle data above. Production rate is about 4000 carbines per year.

Apart from a couple of "flyers", the production rate of the Model 1916 is fairly steady and consistent at about 18,500 rifles/year
